Magnus Racing will run with a revised livery in this weekend’s Road Race Showcase at Road America, reversing its traditional dark-grey and blue-trim colors.

The No. 44 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of John Potter and Andy Lally, which ran in a commemorative Saturn V rocket livery at Lime Rock Park, with the Road America design being a variant from its full-season scheme.

Team owner Potter is hoping the revised livery will bring improved fortunes for the team, which currently sit sixth in the GT Daytona championship standings.

The livery decision, according to the team’s press release, was for “funsies” as Potter explains.

“Since we were already altering the livery after Lime Rock, we figured why not keep playing with it,” he said.

“We’ve enjoyed a dark grey base for four years now, but we figured why not try something different since we’re at it.

“Road America has been a race of mixed fortunes for us, but we’re hopeful this could be a good weekend depending on the usual range of factors.

“It’s a tight fight for second in the championship, and we’re eager to see where these final few races take us.”

Lally, meanwhile, is looking forward to returning to the four-mile circuit, where he has enjoyed previous success.

“Road America is high on everyone’s list, it’s a great place for proper racing,” Lally said.

“Even though our results haven’t shown it, the team has made big strides in the last few races and this could be the place where it finally all comes together.”
