Montoya Paces Warmup

Juan Pablo Montoya led the way in warmup for today’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

The Acura Team Penske driver topped the 20-minute session with a best lap of 1:34.772 in the No. 6 Acura ARX-05 he’ll share with Dane Cameron in the third round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup.

The No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Cadillac DPi-V.R of Matt McMurry was second quickest overall and in Prototype, followed by the Kyle Masson-driven No. 38 Performance Tech Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson.

Rene Rast returned to action following extensive repairs made to the No. 77 Team Joest Mazda RT24-P following the German’s high-flying accident in Practice 3 on Saturday.

Rast set the 13th quickest time.

The No. 22 Tequila Patron ESM Nissan Onroak DPi, which underwent an engine change following an issue in qualifying for Pipo Derani, was 11th on the time sheets.

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing’s Dirk Mueller was quickest in GT Le Mans and the No. 33 Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Jeroen Bleekemolen pacing GT Daytona.

The pole-sitting No. 54 CORE autosport Oreca 07 Gibson is one of several cars to start the race from the rear of the field after electing to make a change to the starting driver.

Team owner Jon Bennett will roll off from 16th on the in the Prototype class.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen gets underway at 9:45 a.m. EDT, with flag-to-flag live coverage on FS1.
