Negri Paces Monterey Warmup

Ozz Negri led the 20-minute morning warmup for Sunday’s Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford EcoBoost Riley, with a best time of 1:21.953. Negri will start eighth in the car he’ll share with John Pew.

Times weren’t particularly representative with no car turning more than seven laps. Additionally, a red flag for the stopped No. 7 Starworks Motorsport PC car at Turn 11 interrupted the flow of the session.

Other class leaders were Sean Rayhall, second overall in the No. 25 8Star Motorsports Oreca FLM09 in PC, Antonio Garcia in fifth in the No. 3 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R (GT Le Mans) and Dion von Moltke in GT Daytona in the No. 35 Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 LMS.

The first race, the PC/GTD race, goes green at 10:15 a.m. PDT.
