Members of Porsche Penske Motorsport were recognized Wednesday at the White House in a ceremony held by U.S. President Donald Trump that also included Team Penske’s championship-winning NASCAR and NTT IndyCar Series programs.
The event featured legendary team owner Roger Penske and three Team Penske race cars, including a No. 7 Porsche 963 that typically competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, on the White House lawn for a press briefing.
It came amid news of Trump ordering a 90-day pause for most new tariffs, which took up the majority of the media Q&A session.
Both 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona winners Felipe Nasr and Laurens Vanthoor were on hand for the event, along with Porsche Penske managing director Jonathan Diuguid, competition director Travis Law, team manager Joel Svensson and IMSA CEO Ed Bennett.
Nasr and Vanthoor were earlier invited into the Oval Office for a group photo that included Penske, the team’s NASCAR drivers Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano as well as two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden.
The champions event comes ahead of this weekend’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, where Porsche Penske will be seeking to keep its undefeated record in WeatherTech Championship competition this season.
