PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports will return to a standalone entry to field its No. 52 Oreca 07 Gibson in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, it has been confirmed.
The California-based squad has run under the Inter Europol by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports banner this season and currently leads the LMP2 standings with two races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta remaining.
After Inter Europol announced earlier this month that it will move to field an LMP2 entry of its own next year, the Bobby Oergel-led team was confirmed on Thursday to remain on the WeatherTech Championship grid with its No. 52 Oreca.
PR1/Mathiasen is one of the WeatherTech Championship’s longest-tenured teams, having been on the grid since the series’ inaugural season in 2014.
Since the LMP2 category became a standalone class in 2019, the team has won the championship in four out of five seasons with championship success in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023.
The only season it didn’t win the title, it finished runner-up to Tower Motorsports in 2022.
