After Michael Shank Racing led the way in the morning, it was another Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley that topped the time charts in Friday afternoon’s second and final practice at Detroit’s Belle Isle.

Scott Pruett pedaled his No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Ford  to a best lap of 1:26.582. Pruett edged out the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP of Richard Westbrook by 0.328 seconds.

The No. 1 Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD ARX-03b of Ryan Dalziel was third quickest with a 1:27.027, while Gustavo Yacaman put his OAK Racing Morgan-Nissan fourth on the time charts thanks to a 1:27.115 lap time.

Four different engine manufacturers ended the session in the top-four, with the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP of Joao Barbosa completing the top-five overall.

In GTD, Flying Lizard Motorsports’ Spencer Pumpelly led the way with a 1:33.756 lap time in this No. 45 Audi R8 LMS.

The No. 22 Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT America of Leh Keen was second, followed by Kuba Giermaziak’s NGT Motorsport Porsche in third.

The 90-minute session saw three red flags, two for debris and the third for the No. 18 Muehlner Motorsports Porsche of Sebastian Asch, who went into the barriers in Turn 1 with less than 5 minutes on the clock.

The session did not restart.

Next up is qualifying, beginning at 5:25 p.m. ET.
