Ricky Taylor led the way in Friday’s second and final TUDOR United SportsCar Championship practice session prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s Tequila Patron Sports Car Showcase at Long Beach.
The No. 10 Corvette DP was quickest with a 1:15.879 in the 35-minute session, which again featured no red flags.
Taylor outpaced the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Ford of Scott Pruett by 0.286 seconds, with the No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP of Eric Curran third on the time charts.
GT Le Mans saw Bill Aubelen top the time charts in his No. 25 BMW Team RLL BMW Z4 GTE.
Giancarlo Fisichella (Risi Competizione) and John Edwards (BMW Team RLL) completed the top-three in class.
The only significant incident came late in the session when Fisichella slammed into the wall, damaging the rear of his Ferrari F458 Italia GT.
Moments earlier, the No. 4 Corvette C7.R of Oliver Gavin was turned around near the wall. Gavin rejoined without any apparent damage.
Qualifying begins at 5:30 p.m. PT.
