Risi Competizione will make its second consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start of the season, with Ferrari having confirmed the driver lineup for the team’s GTD Pro Ferrari 488 GTE Evo entry ahead of next weekend’s Florida endurance classic.

The Houston-based team, which finished runner-up in the category’s debut race in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, will feature factory drives Davide Rigon and Daniel Serra alongside Eddie Cheever III.

Rigon and Serra have been carried over from the team’s lineup at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with both of its Rolex 24 drivers Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado set to focus exclusively on their FIA World Endurance Championship commitments with AF Corse during the event.

As a result, 28-year-old Cheever has been drafted in for his top-class debut, having previously contested the FIA World Endurance Championship and Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS series.

“We have a great deal of history at Sebring, including three victories,” said team principal Giuseppe Risi.

“Returning to a track we have experienced much success over the years certainly gets everyone excited.

“It will be a big weekend with the WEC teams competing on Friday and our 12-hour race on Saturday. Fans should enjoy many hours of good racing, and particularly with the Ferrari battles in both series.”

Risi has yet to announce any additional races beyond Sebring.
