Multiple sources have confirmed to Sportscar365 that Team Sahlen will withdraw its Daytona Prototypes from the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

News of the team’s departure was also released to Racer on Saturday.

Sahlen’s two Riley-BMW DPs already had been confirmed for the 2014 TUDOR Championship a month ago. Dane Cameron and Wayne Nonnamaker were set to resume in the No. 42 car and the father-and-son lineup of Joe and Will Nonnamaker in the sister No. 43 car.

Although the team failed to win in 2013, Cameron was impressive on occasion with a pole at Lime Rock Park and a near win at Road America before mechanical gremlins took him out of the race. The team’s best finish was fourth on two occasions.

The Sahlen’s program will continue in one of the IMSA series next year, but where and with what machinery is yet to be determined.
