The No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda has led a session for the first time, as AJ Allmendinger topped the timesheets in the fourth session of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 weekend at Daytona International Speedway.

Allmendinger, one of the 2012 race winners, set a fastest lap of 1:39.418. The time was down slightly compared to the fastest time set in this morning’s third session, 1:39.181 by Jordan Taylor.

A pair of Corvette DPs were next with the No. 5 Action Express Racing and No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entries second and third. The pair of Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Fords rounded out the top five.

CORE autosport led in Prototype Challenge for the second straight session, although Colin Braun’s best time of 1:42.902 was off by more than one second than the morning in the No. 54 Oreca FLM09.

BMW Team RLL emerged at the head of the GT Le Mans field for the first time with the No. 25 BMW Z4 GTE, driven by Dirk Werner, posting a 1:45.000. The No. 911 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR, second BMW Z4, No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia and second factory Porsche completed the top five, with the five of them covered by just 0.195 of a second.

Another Porsche 911 GT America led in GT Daytona; this time it was the Konrad Motorsport No. 28 entry driven this week by Christopher Zoechling. Christian Englehart and Klaus Bachler are part of the lineup but not expected in until later this weekend, due to their commitments in the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai.

The No. 93 Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper GT3-R and No. 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3 made it three manufacturers in the top three positions.

The notable incident from this session was the DeltaWing’s accident in Turn 4, which has seen that team pack up for the weekend after the damage was too extensive to be repaired on site.

The fifth session of the weekend and third today occurs from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. ET and local time, before night practice this evening.

RESULTS: Saturday Test Session 4
