Renger van der Zande led the way in morning warmup for this afternoon’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
The Chip Ganassi Racing driver reeled off a best lap of 1:07.969 in the No. 01 Cadillac V-Series.R to edge out the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac of Alexander Sims by 0.226 seconds.
Pole-sitter Tom Blomqvist was third quickest in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06, followed by Mathieu Jaminet in the No. 6 Penske Porsche 963 and Filipe Albuquerque, who completed the top-five in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Acura.
Loris Spinelli and Ross Gunn led the production-based ranks for Forte Racing by US RaceTronics and The Heart of Racing, respectively, while Wayne Boyd was quickest for AWA in LMP3.
There were no major incidents in the 20-minute session, which ran without any red flags.
