Salih Yoluc will fill in for John Farano in the No. 8 Tower Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson in this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, as the team owner/principal continues his recovery from an accident at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca last month.

The Bronze-rated Turkish driver, who won the 2022 European Le Mans Series LMP2 Pro-Am title as well as this year’s Asian Le Mans Series championship, will share driving duties of the LMP2 entry with Will Stevens and Kyffin Simpson.

“I’m looking forward to working with Will and Kyffin, and I am fully focused on giving it my all to help this team achieve the best results possible,” said Yoluc.

“I’d like to thank John for thinking of me, he has put together a phenomenal crew and a highly competitive program, and I have full confidence that I can add a positive contribution to this team’s impressive history.

“I am sending him well wishes, and I will do my very best to maintain and add to the success and progress the team has made so far this season.”

It will mark the first WeatherTech Championship race Farano has missed due to his injury, after electing to stand down from the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this month.

“I have been following Salih’s progress and successes over the last couple of years and his accomplishments speak for themselves,” he said. “All of us at Tower Motorsports are very excited to have Salih join us for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and I could not think of anyone more perfect to step in as my replacement for this event.

“Knowing that Salih has worked with Will Stevens in the past, and became familiar with Kyffin Simpson this year in ALMS and ELMS, he will no doubt fit right in and make an immediate impact.

“I look forward to returning track side with our team at the Glen in a support role and very much looking forward to seeing all of my fellow competitors again albeit, from the sidelines.”

No word has been given on Farano’s expected return to the cockpit of the car.
