Courtney Crone will make the move from LMP3 competition to Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America this year, with the IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship winner joining World Speed in the single-make series.
Crone, who took part in the inaugural season of VP Racing SportsCar Challenge last year, finished fourth in the LMP3 standings with six podium finishes to her credit.
“I am beyond excited to join World Speed Motorsports and Graham Prewett Inc for the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season,” she said.
“This jump to Lamborghini Super Trofeo will mark a significant move in my career, and I am excited to see where this journey with sports cars takes me.
“I believe we will have a very strong lineup and the confidence that we will deliver good results this year.”
Crone’s scholarship, won in 2023, extends into the 2024 season for an IMSA-sanction series, which includes Super Trofeo.
Her co-driver in the series, which kicks off at Sebring International Raceway in March, will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We plan to sign two dynamic drivers who will be fully prepared to deliver for the team and we expect to see positive results at the beginning of the season,” said World Speed team manager Jan Trojan.
“We spent 2023 getting the team ready for this, and we’re excited to get the ‘24 season started.”
