Reigning Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro class champion Ernie Francis Jr. will make his return to the single-make series at Watkins Glen International later this month, having been confirmed to drive for Alliance Racing.
Francis Jr., who teamed with Giano Taurino to win the 2024 title with TR3 Racing, is expected to drive solo at the wheel of the team’s Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 in the Pro class.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ernie to the Alliance Racing family,” said team owner Toney Edwards.
“His pedigree speaks for itself, and his presence brings another level of depth and confidence to the team. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together at Watkins Glen.”
Francis Jr. added: “I’m thrilled to be back in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, especially with a team like Alliance Racing.
“Watkins Glen is a track I really enjoy, and I’m ready to help the team push for top results. It’s been a wild and rewarding journey so far this year, and I’m excited to keep building on that momentum.”
Alliance debuted in Super Trofeo North America competition as a four-car operation in March’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring before running three cars in the most recent event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The Watkins Glen round takes place on June 19-21, as part of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend.
