George Planning Racing Return in Super Trofeo

Taking his first steps on a comeback to professional racing, former NASCAR driver Tim George Jr. has announced plans to join Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America next year.

Now a licensed realtor in Charleston, SC, George focuses on commercial and residential sales and investments for his clients. He last raced professionally in 2013.

“I’m very fortunate to have aligned with the Lamborghini family, and to have the opportunity to test with Dream Racing,” said George. “It is a true dream to get back into a race car. “At the same time, I strongly believe one creates his or her own luck.”

George kicked off testing the Super Trofeo  EVO car with Dream Racing on Monday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, in anticipation for a 2019 program in the single-make series.

“Lamborghini Squadra Corse are delighted that Mr. George is looking to expand his extensive racing background by venturing into the highly competitive arena of Super Trofeo,”  said Chris
Ward, senior manager for Lamborghini Motorsport USA. “We look forward to welcoming him to the paddock in 2019.”

George, an extreme sports enthusiast, is a former chef trained in health supportive cooking by The Natural Gourmet Institute, and is aiming to align with a portfolio of shared economy brands and healthy lifestyle companies.

The former Grand-Am Rookie-of-the-Year and podium finisher in the Rolex 24 at Daytona said he’s looking forward to making his comeback to sports car racing.

“I have been a car enthusiast since before I could walk,” said George. “I recall days laying in the back of my father’s Corvette Stingray and watching the trees fly past.

“The feeling of weight transition has always intrigued me. I’ve been living by a saying that I learned back in high school: ‘when you own your own world, you’re always home.'”
