Patrick Kujala set the quickest time in Friday’s practice sessions for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competitors at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The 25-year-old Spanish-born Finn reeled off a best lap of 1:24.987 in his No. 50 O’Gara Motorsport/Change Racing/USRT Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to edge out teammate Damon Ockey by 0.077 seconds.

Kujala‘s time came in Friday morning’s opening session, which saw a red flag for the LB Cup class No. 9 TPC Racing entry of Wesley Slimp, which did not return to action in the afternoon.

The former Lamborghini GT3 junior driver will be sharing driving duties with fellow World Final winner Edoardo Piscopo this season.

Ockey in the No. 8 O’Gara/Change/USRT entry was quickest of the Pro-Am class competitors, while Danny Formal in the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini set the day’s third quickest time with a 1:25.201 lap in the afternoon.

John Dubets was quickest in the Am class in his No. 46 Precision Performance Motorsports entry while John Hennessy topped LB Cup, giving the new O’Gara/Change/USRT partnership a sweep of three of the four classes on Friday.

A total of 31 cars set times between the two practice sessions, down from the initial 35-car entry for the season-opener.

Qualifying is scheduled for 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET) on Saturday followed by Race 1 at 1:50 p.m. PT (4:50 p.m. ET) which will be carried live on Peacock, IMSA.tv and the Lamborghini Squadra Corse website.

RESULTS: Practice (Combined)
