O’Gara Motorsport announced today that they will field cars for drivers Ryan and Damon Ockey of Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the 2015 season of the North American Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series.
The brothers will each drive their own O’Gara Motorsport/Lamborghini Calgary/Cardel Racing Lamborghini Huracán.
Ryan Ockey, 52, is excited to be joining O’Gara Motorsport for his first full season driving in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series.
“After having tried the Gallardo Super Trofeo in two races last year, I am very excited to race a full season this year with O’Gara Motorsports, Lamborghini Calgary and Cardel Racing,” he said.
“The new Huracán Super Trofeo looks to be a fantastic car and we will be driving on all the greatest tracks in North America so I feel extremely fortunate to be in this position!”
Ockey’s younger brother, Damon Ockey, 47, is also looking forward to partnering with the new team.
“I am very excited about joining O’Gara Motorsport for the 2015 season,” Damon Ockey said. “O’Gara is really putting together a team with the talent to get results. I drove in four Super Trofeo races last year and was really impressed by the quality of the racing and the cars.
“I have yet to drive the new Huracán but it looks like it will be a monster. Lamborghini is doing the series right, with an amazing race specific car, awesome support and the best tracks around North America.”
O’Gara Motorsport team owner, Tom O’Gara, is thrilled to have the brothers join the team.
“I raced against Ryan and Damon in a couple of races last season,” O’Gara said. “I think they’re both really talented drivers and I’m extremely proud to have them on my team. I’m confident that we’ll work well together and have a successful season.”
The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American Series kicks off at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, on May 1-3.
