Valkyrie Velocity will focus its efforts on the IMSA paddock, having confirmed its withdrawal from Pirelli GT4 America in favor of an increased program in Lamborghini Super Trofro North America beginning this weekend at Watkins Glen International.

Season-long drivers Raymond Davoudi and Dominic Starkweather return, with Starkweather joined by Lamborghini GT3 junior driver Tyler Cooke.

Davoudi , meanwhile, will drive the No. 11 El Chingon Bad Ass Mexican Restaurant Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 in LB Cup, while Starkweather will step away from the Am class this weekend to co-drive the No. 12 Daxxon Gray Motorsports/Beacon Building Products Lamborghini with Cooke in the Pro class.

Both cars are supported by Lamborghini Austin, located near the headquarters of Valkyrie AI.

“I couldn’t be more ready to get back in the car,” said Starkweather. “I feel really good physically and mentally. Watkins Glen is my favorite track, I love the speed and the risk factor.

“Laguna was a great experience, and I couldn’t have asked for more with a podium at my first IMSA event.”

Davoudi added: “I’ve spent the last few weeks watching the Laguna Seca race pretty much every day, and getting pretty upset every time seeing that last turn and watching what happened leading up to the turn. But I took a lot away from that race.

“Having no experience in that car, I think I did pretty good. I spent some time getting some testing done since then. We got a good seven or eight days getting used to the car and its limits and making some adjustments to set up and this race weekend.”

Ferriol Set for Lamborghini Debut in WeatherTech Championship

While the team focuses on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo effort, team owner Rob Ferriol will make his debut with Lamborghini driving the No. 42 NTE Sport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

Ferriol will share the GTD class entry with Jaden Conwright and Luke Berkeley.

“I’m stoked to join the WeatherTech Championship grid in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 this weekend,” he said.

“Though our continued focus at Hardpoint is on the Valkyrie Velocity Lamborghini Super Trofeo program, I have to thank Paul Mata and the team at NTE Sport for putting a late deal together to get me back behind the wheel of a GT3 car.

“It’s a bit serendipitous that it happens to be in a Lamborghini. The whole Lamborghini Squadra Corse organization has welcomed us into their 2023 Super Trofeo program with open arms, so it will be great to extend that relationship to the big race on Sunday.

“Though I haven’t had an opportunity to drive the car yet, I’ve been able to work closely with Jaden and Luke on the simulator and am ready to hit the ground running.”
