Longtime Broadcaster Jim Martyn Passes Away

CTMP track announcer, former ALMS radio broadcaster passes away…

Longtime motorsports broadcaster Jim Martyn passed away on Wednesday.

Martyn served as the public address announcer for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, while also having worked at Sebring International Raceway and previously on the American Le Mans Series Radio network in the early 2000s.

The Canadian’s career in motorsports stretched more than 30 years.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Jim Martyn,” a statement from IMSA read.

“He served as the voice of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for many years and was a fixture at our races at the iconic venue. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to his family. Rest In Peace Jim.”
