Robert Noaker comfortably led Friday practice ahead of the penultimate round of the Mustang Challenge season at Circuit of The Americas, where the series forms part of the support bill for the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Noaker’s best time of 2:18.756, set aboard the No. 13 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, was 1.560 seconds quicker than the No. 22 TechSport machine of Devin Anderson.
The majority of the fastest times during Friday’s running came during the second and final practice session.
Alex Bachoura led the Dark Horse Legends class in third overall aboard the No. 33 Spark Performance entry, followed by Marcos Bento’s No. 18 McCumbee McAleer Racing Mustang.
The overall top five was rounded out by Robert Noaker Racing driver Sandy Satullo, ahead of series newcomer Will Lucas in sixth.
Lucas’ Paley Motorsport stablemate Sam Paley slotted into seventh in the No. 26 entry.
Britt Casey, a late addition to the grid in a fourth Robert Noaker Racing, picked up eighth behind the wheel of the No. 91 car.
The field for this weekend’s pair of 45-minute races still consists of 16 cars as the No. 87 Peterson Racing Group LLC car of Doug Peterson has been withdrawn.
The overall top ten was completed by Zachary Lee and Tate Pritt.
Track action for Mustang Challenge continues with qualifying, scheduled for Saturday at 9:45 a.m. CST.
