Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America will head to the streets of Long Beach with a capacity 35-car field for Rounds 3 and 4 of the season this weekend.
The entry list for the single-make series consists of 20 Pro class entries, 10 in Pro-Am and five Am cars, compared to the 41 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars that took part in last month’s season-opener at Sebring International Raceway, which did not face entry restrictions.
All Pro class drivers were present in Sebring, which saw a commanding performance in both 40-minute races by Riley Dickinson, who heads into Long Beach as the championship leader.
The Kellymoss driver holds a 16-point lead over McElrea Racing’s Tom Sargent, with Will Martin, of JDX Racing and MDK Motorsports driver Jason Hart, both tied for third in the standings after two rounds.
Pro-Am will feature the season debuts for GMG Racing’s Kyle Washington and Tod Parriott, as well as Kellymoss driver PJ Hyett, who will be pulling double duty between Carrera Cup and the 100-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race on Saturday.
Moisey Uretsky and Alan Metni head into the weekend in a dead heat in the standings, having each scored a class win at Sebring.
MDK Motorsports drivers Mark Kvamme and Scott Noble, meanwhile, run 1-2 in the Am championship after splitting the Sebring event with wins.
Track action kicks off on Friday with a pair of practice sessions followed by qualifying in the afternoon, with Race 1 getting underway Saturday at 5:15 p.m. PT (8:15 p.m. ET) and Race 2 on Sunday at 4:20 p.m. PT (7:20 p.m. ET) with live coverage available on PorscheCarreraCup.us, Peacock and IMSA Radio.
