Gustav Burton claimed a controlling victory in the second and final Porsche Carrera Cup North America race of the week at Sebring International Raceway.

The MDK Motorsports driver, who started on pole for Friday evening’s race, led flag-to-flag in the 40-minute contest, which got off to an incident-filled start.

The opening lap accident included Pro-Am Race 1 winner James Sofronas and JDX Racing’s Madeline Stewart, who was hit twice and wad forced to retire and bring out the race’s only full course caution.

Burton initially crossed the line three-tenths of a second ahead of Race 1 winner Loek Hartog in the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

Hartog, however, was assessed a ten-second post-race penalty for a false start on the restart, dropping the Dutchman to third.

Burton, meanwhile, claimed victory in the 50th race of the one-make series.

Ryan Hardley inherited second in the No. 77 Topp Racing Performance Porsche, having initially gotten passed by Hartog on the restart with 26 minutes to go before the 21-year-old made a rapid charge on the eventual race winner.

Michael McCann came home fourth in the No. 8 McCann Racing Porsche, with Alex Sedgwick fifth after a ten-second penalty for Zachary Vanier, also for a false start.

Alan Metni picked up Pro-Am class honors in his No. 99 Kellymoss Porsche, finishing 1.226 seconds ahead of Marco Cirone and Pedro Torres in third.

The win in the Masters class went to the No. 22 Alegra Motorsports Porsche of Carlos de Quesada after a ten-second penalty for Matt Halcome, who initially took the checkered flag in his ACI Motorsports entry.

RESULTS: Race 2
