Absolute Racing has announced a management reshuffling ahead of a season in which it is set to compete with three different manufacturers in Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS.

The Shanghai-based squad, founded by Ingo Matter and Fabien Fior, competed with Audi and Porsche in the Asian championship last year as well as at the FIA GT World Cup at Macau and is set to incorporate a new partnership with Ferrari under the Absolute Corse banner.

Announced on Monday, Matter and Fior are both set to take up new roles within the organization as part of a “significant restructuring of its company to further fortify its position in the racing industry.”

Matter will assume the position of CEO, while Fior will become chairman of the board with Vincent Lin coming on board as the new executive director.

Additionally, Absolute revealed the appointment of former team manager Nicola Sgotto as the new technical director while Mark Turner has been named as sporting director.

Sgotto also previously served with the team as race engineer and technical director for its GTWC Asia and Intercontinental GT Challenge effort, spending time working for Iron Lynx before coming back to the team in 2022.

Turner, meanwhile, has an existing relationship with the team through his time as series manager for the Audi R8 LMS Cup and served as sporting manager for the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC).

“This strategic reshuffle marks an exciting chapter in Absolute Racing’s journey,” Matter said.

“With Vincent Lin joining as the executive director and Fabien Fior stepping into the role of chairman, we are confident that we have established the right business structure to achieve growth and long-term stability for the entire team.

“In terms of sports management, we believe we have the right people in key positions. Nicola’s promotion to the overall Technical Director ensures that all programs will run as successfully as possible, and with Mark Turner advancing to the role of Sporting Director, we are confident in gaining a competitive edge during races.”
