Aston Martin Sets 2025 Driver Academy Roster

Aston Martin has revealed a roster of 23 drivers for the newest edition of its Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy, with the winner set to receive support and assistance from the manufacturer towards their 2026 race program.

All drivers selected are aged between 16 and 26 and they compete in Aston Martin GT3 or GT4 machinery in recognized championships, with the likes of the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS represented.

The nominated drivers will be judged by a panel consisting of Aston Martin factory drivers Darren Turner, Jonny Adam and Valentin Hasse-Clot, as well as Head of AMR Academy Rachel Adam, AMR Head of Performance Gus Beteli and Head of AMR Partner Racing Huw Tasker.

Evaluation will take place based on each drivers’ ability to manage the strategic, teamwork, commercial and public relations aspects of their role with the selected driver set to receive  financial support towards their 2026 race programme, as well as assistance and guidance from the factory.

Jamie Day, last year’s Academy winner, currently competes in GTWC Europe with Comtoyou Racing. Other previous graduates include Hasse-Clot, Mike David Ortmann, Ross Gunn, Tom Canning and Roman de Angelis.

The selected candidates recently took part in a two-day seminar that included media training, simulator training as well as a comprehensive fitness assessment, commercial training and an engineering workshop.

Amongst the names included for the GT3 side of the roster are WEC racer Eduardo Barrichello, ELMS driver Erwan Bastard as well as Rory van der Steur, who races in the WeatherTech Championship’s GTD class.

Most of the remaining GT3 drivers come from GTWC Europe, including the likes of Nicolas Baert, Kobe Pauwels, Oliver Soederstroem and Matteo Villagomez.
