Ekris Motorsport’s BMW M4 GT4 turned its first laps at Circuit Park Zandvoort in The Netherlands earlier this week.

Based on the BMW M4, the new Ekris M4 GT4 will be the successor to the BMW M3 GT4, which won the European GT4 titles in 2011, 2013 and 2014.

Ekris Motorsport developed the car in-house in recent months and is set to debut it in the GT4 European Series season finale at Misano in October.

The new M4 GT4 will be powered by a 3-litre Twin Power Turbo engine, said to deliver 430 bhp. Ekris made a numberof adjustments to the car, including changes to the chassis, exhaust system, electronic system and ABS.

As a result of a 120-litre fuel tank teams will also be able to race the M4 GT4 in endurance races like Creventic’s 24H Series and the German VLN championship.

“We have put years of motorsports experience into this beautiful Ekris M4 GT4. We paid detailed attention to the balance of this car to ensure that professional as well as amateur
drivers can race it,” said Ekris Motorport driver Ricardo van der Ende.

“I believe that the BMW M4 corresponds to the GT4 philosophy very well because the car’s race edition shares many similarities with the model that is available in the BMW showrooms.”
