BMW has announced that Jesse Krohn will depart its roster of works drivers ahead of the 2026 season, bringing down the curtain on a 12-year relationship.
The 35-year-old Finn had been on the books at BMW since 2014, when he joined its junior program, before stepping up to full works status with the Bavarian brand in 2018.
That year, Krohn joined BMW M Team RLL in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTLM class, kicking off a three-year stint as a full-time driver that yielded victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2020 at the wheel of a BMW M8 GTE.
After two years as an endurance extra in the GT ranks, Krohn would return to RLL in 2024 for a full season in GTP at the wheel of a BMW M Hybrid, peaking with victory in the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Philipp Eng.
Outside of North America, Krohn has represented BMW in series such as the ADAC GT Masters, the Asian Le Mans Series, where he won the 2017-18 title in the GT class with FIST Team AAI, GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup.
He has also made a number of appearances in the Nürburgring 24, and was part of the ROWE Racing lineup that won the race this year together with Augusto Farfus, Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde.
Krohn commented: “It has been a long, successful time at BMW M Motorsport and I am very grateful for all the opportunities it has given me.
“BMW M Motorsport has given me the chance to become a professional racing driver and I have had the privilege of being part of most of BMW M Motorsport’s top racing programmes after winning the Junior Programme in 2014.
“I have competed in over 200 races around the world with great teams and teammates and have had many successes along the way.
“All good things come to an end, but new and exciting challenges await me. I would like to thank all the teams, teammates and all the BMW M Motorsport staff I have had the pleasure of working with over the past 12 years.
“I wish everyone all the best for the future and every success for 2026. I will miss you, but we will meet again on the race track in the future.”
BMW motorsport boss Andreas Roos described Krohn as “a very reliable racing driver who always gave his all for his job.”
He added: “This professional attitude has led him to great successes – be it with the BMW M8 GTE at Daytona, with the BMW M Hybrid V8 at Indianapolis or most recently with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO at the Nürburgring. It is impressive to see how incredibly far he has come from being a junior driver.
“Jesse Krohn’s career at BMW M Motorsport is a prime example of successful promotion of young talent. He and everyone involved can be very proud of this. Jesse will now be taking on new challenges. I wish him all the best for this!”
The departure of Krohn from BMW’s factory roster follows the news that Jordan Pepper will be joining the brand for the 2026 campaign.
