The provisional date for next year’s Asian Le Mans Series race at Fuji Speedway has been set.

Officials announced Monday that the 2015 race will take place on Sept. 19-20, three weeks later than this year’s event, which clashed with the Suzuka 1000km Super GT race and the popular Sepang 12 Hours in Malaysia.

“We are very excited to be able to come back to the iconic Fuji Speedway Circuit in 2015,” Asian LMS Managing Director Mark Thomas said.

“The professional management, experienced staff, smooth operation and fantastic facilities at Fuji, combined with Japanese motorsports passion will help the series grow and develop for years to come.

“We have endeavored to set next years Fuji date early and also picked a date that does not conflict with any other major motorsport event in the Asian region.

“This should give many more teams and drivers the ability to plan accordingly which will result in a bigger grid for the 2015 race.”
