Algarve Pro Racing has scored its second Asian Le Mans Series pole of the season, in qualifying for Sunday’s season-ending Three Hours of Sepang.

James Winslow put the team’s Ligier JS P2 Nissan on top with a best lap of 1:58.676, edging out the Oliver Webb-qualified, championship-leading Race Performance Oreca 03R Judd by 0.499 seconds.

The No. 9 Eurasia Motorsport Oreca 03R Nissan, which won last time out in Thailand, will roll off third on the grid, ahead of the sister No. 99 entry, which was nearly eight-tenths off Winslow’s pole time.

Winslow will share driving duties with Michael Munemann and Dean Koutsoumidis on Sunday.

Gearbox problems for the LMP3 champions-elect DC Racing Racing meant the No. 99 Team AAI ADESS 03 will start from the pole in class, thanks to a 2:06.283 lap time by Masataka Yanagida.

Absolute Racing led a 1-2 in GT, with Christopher Mies scoring class pole in the No. 5 Audi R8 LMS, ahead of Adderly Fong in the debuting Bentley Continental GT3.

The race gets underway Saturday at 2:30 p.m. local time.
