OAK Racing Team TOTAL led the way in Friday’s pair of practice sessions at Fuji Speedway, as Asian Le Mans Series teams gear up for this weekend’s Three Hours of Fuji.

Ho-Pin Tung topped the time charts in both 60-minute sessions, reeling off a 1:36.520 lap time in his Morgan-Judd in the afternoon practice to go quickest of the day.

Tung’s time was 1.028 seconds quicker than the Eurasia Motorsport Oreca 03 Nissan of Richard Bradley, who also made improvements in the second session.

With the CN cars struggling for speed, the trio of GT entries from Team AAI wound up third, fourth and fifth quickest overall.

Takeshi Tsuchiya posted a 1:40.512 lap time in his No. 90 BMW Z4 GT3 to go quickest in the class. That time was also set in the afternoon.

Avelon Formula, meanwhile, was quickest of the CN cars, with Denis Lian’s 1:43.553 lap time holding from the morning session.

The No. 77 Craft-Bamboo Ligier JS 53 Evo, meanwhile, did not set a time in the afternoon due to engine issues.

Qualifying is on tap for 10 a.m. local time on Saturday.
