Toby Sowery put Algarve Pro Racing to the top of the timesheets in Saturday morning’s second practice session for this weekend’s Dubai round of the Asian Le Mans Series.

British driver Sowery set the pace with a best lap of 1:48.104 aboard APR’s No. 25 Oreca 07 Gibson, going more than a second quicker than the Friday benchmark laid down by Giorgio Roda and Proton Competition ahead of qualifying.

Peugeot FIA World Endurance Championship reserve driver Malthe Jakobsen made it a one-two for Algarve Pro-run cars as he went second-fastest in the No. 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR entry with a time only 0.168 seconds off the pace.

Proton’s No. 22 car was third-fastest, this time in the hands of Julien Andlauer, while the top five was filled out by the two Nielsen Racing entries, with the newly-added No. 34 car of Matt Bell going fourth ahead of Will Stevens in the No. 24.

In LMP3, it was Bretton Racing’s Ligier JS P320 Nissan that topped the times courtesy of a 1:54.844 from Mihnea Stefan, who was more than a second clear of the No. 20 High Class Racing car in which Anders Fjordbach set the best time.

However, Stefan’s time was slightly slower than Fabien Lavergne’s chart-topping effort on Friday for CD Sport.

Heading the GT times was Riccardo Pera in the No. 86 GR Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 with a best time of 1:58.067.

Mercedes-AMG teams filled out the next three positions, with Jordan Love (who replaces Broc Feeney this weekend) going second-fastest in the No. 88 Triple Eight JMR entry ahead of Fabian Schiller in the No. 7 AlManar Racing by GetSpeed car and Martin Konrad in the sister No. 9 GetSpeed machine.

Qualifying for the Dubai 4 Hours is set to begin at 2:30 p. m. local time (5:30 a. m. ET).
