Following a successful return to GT racing competition this year, Selleslagh Racing Team (SRT) could expand to the European Le Mans Series in 2015, as the Belgian squad is evaluating a GTE program with its Corvette C6.R.

The team, run by father-and-son Patrick and Niels Selleslagh, scored three victories, nine podiums and helped take Corvette to constructor’s championship in International GT Open this year.

Having fielded customer Corvettes for the better part of the last decade, SRT sees that relationship continue next year, although with an eye on the ACO-run series.

“In 2015 we will be continuing with our Corvette C6.R GTE and we are obviously opting for the championship in which we started out this season, but also the European Le Mans Series is a serious lead,” Patrick Selleslagh said.

“Our Corvette finds itself back in its natural habitat, in a championship that originated in Le Mans. Whoever wishes to race against Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche, can definitely do that with our machine.

“The European Le Mans Series is comprised out of five races on brilliant circuits, with an awesome field of entrants. It goes without saying that I am fully convinced that SRT can more than hold its own there.”
