Timothé Buret will join Panis-Barthez Compétition for both the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 this year.

The young Frenchman will drive alongside Fabien Barthez in a Ligier JS P2 Nissan for the entire season, at the team that was founded by soccer star Barthez and ex-Formula One ace Olivier Panis.

Buret has already raced in the Endurance Series and VdeV, and last year contested the Pro Mazda series to get a taste of the American open wheel scene, in which he won at Indianapolis.

“It’s great to have Timothé Buret on board,” said Panis. “We’re all really pleased.

“His career choices show his grit and determination and he has been successful in a variety of disciplines, so he is a perfect match for us.

“He convinced us that he really wants to make headway in endurance and this season we’ll be doing all we can to help him rise to the challenge.”
