DragonSpeed has confirmed a return to the European Le Mans Series next year, despite its recent announced full-season program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Elton Julian-owned squad will field a brand-new Oreca 07 Gibson for Ben Hanley, with the second driver to be announced shortly and final seat still to be decided.

It will mark the American-flagged team’s fifth year in the ACO-run championship, as DragonSpeed will also pursue securing an invite to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2.

“Our plans have come together quickly in the past week, and we couldn’t be more delighted to confirm our continued participation in the ELMS,” said Julian.

“The competition in the series just gets stronger and stronger, so we are preparing for an all-out effort to repeat our 2017 success as champions, and hoping to extend that to include another assault on Le Mans.”
