DragonSpeed was fastest in both the Bronze Test and Free Practice 1 on Friday ahead of the Four Hours of Le Castellet, with Nicolas Lapierre the fastest driver.
The Frenchman lapped the Paul Ricard circuit with a 1:48.475, putting him 0.147 seconds clear of his fellow countryman Mathias Beche in the similar Oreca 05 Nissan.
Nathanael Berthon went third-fastest for Greaves Motorsport in the No. 41 Ligier JS P2 Nissan.
This comes after Henrik Hedman led the way for DragonSpeed in Friday morning’s Bronze Test, over a second clear of Fabien Barthez.
In a bold entrance to the class, Tockwith Motorsports showed its mettle with the LMP3 category lead. Nigel Moore took the No. 26 Ligier JS P3 Nissan to first in the 20-car class, lapping at 1:54.669.
Villorba Corse was second with Giorgio Sernagiotto, while Panis Barthez Competition came third on the timesheets. The championship-leading United Autosports No. 2 entry was fourth.
AT Racing was the GTE leader with a 1:58.080 courtesy of Alessandro Pier Guidi. This was a mere 0.027 seconds clear of Darren Turner, however, in the Aston Martin Racing entry.
Free Practice 2 is set for Saturday morning at 8:10 a.m. local time.
