Nicolas Lapierre led the way in the second Free Practice session ahead of this weekend’s Four Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, on Saturday morning.

Following a session-topping time from the DragonSpeed driver in Friday’s first session, the No. 21 Oreca 05 Nissan once again set the fastest time in Free Practice 2, almost a full second quicker than yesterday’s time.

Tristan Gommendy took second in the Eurasia Motorsport No. 33 Oreca Nissan, 0.671 seconds down on the pace-setters.

Panis Barthez Competition and Greaves Motorsport were third and fourth, with their two Ligier JS P2 Nissans. Championship leaders Thiriet by TDS Racing came fifth in class.

Matt Bell was fastest for United Autosports in LMP3, putting the No. 3 Ligier JS P3 Nissan at the front of the field. The sister No. 2 car had gone quickest in yesterday’s session.

Bell’s best time was a 2:15.969, which put him a mere 0.065 seconds clear of the points-leading No. 2 car.

Proton Competition and Matteo Cairoli led the way in GTE, as its No. 88 Porsche 911 RSR went to the top of the timesheets. A 2:18.814 was good enough to put that car several-tenths clear of AF Corse.

The session was red-flagged and ended five minutes early when Andreas Wirth went off track.

Qualifying for Round Five of the European Le Mans Series is set for 1:25 p.m. local time.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
