The European Le Mans Series has signed an extension with Goodyear for the brand to continue to act as the single tire supplier for the LMP2 and LMGT3 divisions until the 2029 season.

The news follows confirmation last month that the tire manufacturer would also supply rubber for the LMGT3 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship for the same period.

The ELMS deal includes Goodyear providing tires for the next generation of LMP2 machinery, which is due to be introduced for 2028.

The company has supplied tires to LMGT3 competitors ever since the class was introduced in 2024, while its exclusive LMP2 arrangement dates back to 2021.

“Extending our partnership with the ACO and the European Le Mans Series through 2029 is a strong statement of our long-term commitment to endurance racing,” said Xavier Fraipont, Vice President, Goodyear Racing.

“LMP2 and LMGT3 classes are two pillars of the sport, and we are proud to continue supporting both with tire technologies that deliver consistency, performance and increasing levels of sustainability.

“Our latest developments — from record-level stint performance in LMP2 to the introduction of higher sustainable material content in LMGT3 — demonstrate how we continue to push the boundaries on track, while shaping the future of mobility.”

ACO President Pierre Fillon added: “Goodyear’s continued commitment to these categories is a strong signal for the future of the ELMS and for endurance racing as a whole.

“Together, we will continue to support innovation, sporting quality and sustainable progress across one of the most competitive championships in our discipline.”

Goodyear has aspirations to increase its motorsport presence and did submit a bid to also supply tires to the WEC’s Hypercar class.

The ELMS announcement made no mention of the LMP3 division, which currently uses Michelin rubber.
