Jon Lancaster in the No. 41 Greaves Motorsport Gibson 015S Nissan set the fastest time of the day, in the second European Le Mans Series practice session at Silverstone on Friday afternoon.

At the end of the 90-minute practice session Lancaster was almost four-tenths quicker than the fastest time set in the morning by Harry Tincknell.

The Greaves Motorsport driver set a best lap of 1:49.419 around the 3.652-mile circuit.

Filipe Albuquerque posted the second fastest time of the session in the second Gibson 015S, the No. 38 Jota Sport entry, at 1:50.017. Albuquerque’s teammate Tincknell spun the car when he was behind the wheel, but continued.

The No. 48 Murphy Prototypes and No. 32 AF Corse Oreca 03s completed the top four, albeit a second behind the two Greaves Gibson 015S.

In GTE it was the No. 56 AT Racing Ferrari 458 Italia that topped the time charts, with Alessandro Pier Guidi setting a best lap of 2:01.248. Klaus Bachler in the No. 88 Proton Competiton Porsche was second fastest, followed by Andy Priaulx in the No. 52 BMW Team Marc VDS.

The Team LNT cars were on top of the LMP3 category, with the No. 3 Ginetta Nissan of Chris Hoy and Charlie Robertson setting the pace, which was considerably quicker than before.

AF Corse was first and second in GTC, the two Ferrari 458 Italia GT3s separated by just 0.006 seconds. TDS Racing finished the session in third place, just over a tenth slower than the AF Corse cars.

The cars will be back on track for qualifying tomorrow at 11:05 am.
