One of Switzerland’s successful prototype teams will be racing under a new name this year.
Morand Racing announced Wednesday that it will compete in the European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans under the “NewBlood by Morand Racing” banner.
It comes after a debut season in the ELMS, which saw three podium finishes out of five races for its Judd-powered Morgan.
For 2014, ex-F1 driver Christian Klien and Swiss Gary Hirsch will drive for the Benoit Morand-led organization, as the team looks to take home the LMP2 title.
Confirmation of Morand’s Le Mans entry is expected to come later today during the ACO’s unveiling of the list of invites for this year’s twice-around-the-clock French endurance classic.
