Bent Viscaal will return to Proton Competition’s Pro-Am lineup for the full European Le Mans Series campaign after a one-off outing at last year’s Portimao double header finale.
The Dutchman will pilot the No. 77 Oreca 07 Gibson for the six-round series, teaming up with Bronze-rated Giorgio Roda and a yet-to-be-confirmed third driver.
Viscaal, who formed part of Prema’s FIA World Endurance Championship lineup in the LMP2 category last year, made multiple stand-in appearances in ELMS across the course of the 2023 season.
First, he replaced Jack Hawksworth at Algarve Pro Racing when the Brit had clashing IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship commitments that ruled him out of the rounds at Aragon and Spa.
Viscaal then returned to the grid for the Portimao double header finale when Gianmaria Bruni suffered a shoulder injury.
In addition to its own entry in the Pro-Am class, Proton will field a second Oreca in partnership with Iron Lynx, headlined by Lamborghini factory driver Matteo Cairoli.
The ELMS season kicks off with the 4 Hours of Barcelona on April 14.
