Spanish outfit Be Motorsport will step up to the Michelin Le Mans Cup this season with its Ligier JS P3 Nissan, following a successful 2016 in the VdeV series.

Javier Ibran and Alvaro Fontes will share the team’s Ligier, a driver pairing that previously competed together in the Spanish GT Championship in 2014.

“Lining up a new European project with Be Motorsport for 2017 is a pinnacle of my racing career,” commented Ibran. “I think the Michelin Le Mans Cup is an excellent, unique challenge for our team and a key step towards the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is a goal for us.

“At the moment, we will be able to make our Road to Le Mans debut in preparation for a future at the 24 hours. The Michelin Le Mans Cup is a very professional racing series and, besides Le Mans, there are other iconic circuits such as Spa and Monza.

“It is a truly honor to team up with Alvaro, a close friend and an extremely quick driver.”
