The record books were re-written again this year when Porsche claimed its 17th overall victory at Le Mans, with the definitive story behind the German manufacturer’s record-extending triumph now available in time for the holiday season.

“Porsche Victory 2015,” authored by renowned motorsports journalist, and Sportscar365 contributor, Rene de Boer, chronicles Porsche’s journey through the French endurance classic, which culminated with the historic win for its 919 Hybrid driven by Nick Tandy, Earl Bamber and Nico Hulkenberg.

Published by Gruppe C GmbH, the 192-page coffee table book takes you back to the FIA WEC Prologue, where Porsche’s distinct Le Mans-specific liveries were unveiled, through the Le Mans Test Day, scrutineering and race week activities and into the action-packed race itself.

It not only tells the story of the three factory LMP1 entries, but also the Porsche Team Manthey Porsche 911 RSRs, as well as the customer GTE-Am entries in this year’s race.

While De Boer’s words more-than-adequately depicts the story, the nearly 500 photos, including many never-before-seen images, brings the reader into each pivotal moment throughout the book.

The multi-lingual (English, German, French) hardcover book features comprehensive results and statistics about the race, including a number of pictorial diagrams, such as overviews of the buttons on the steering wheel.

With a forward from Hans Herrmann, who gave Porsche its first overall victory at La Sarthe in 1970, the book makes a must-have for any Porsche or endurance racing fan.
