ORECA has reached a significant milestone in the production of its LMP2 car, with the 50th Oreca 07 Gibson having recently been produced and delivered.
Revealed on social media, the French constructor confirmed the latest chassis will go to Jota Sport, which is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Roberto Gonzalez, Anthony Davidson and Antonio Felix da Costa.
The car completed a successful shakedown at Paul Ricard on Friday.
Jota Sport kicked off its 2019-20 campaign with what’s believed to have been a Oreca chassis that was previously operated under the Jackie Chan DC Racing banner.
With the latest generation LMP2 machinery now eligible for the Asian Le Mans Series, and an influx of European teams switching to Orecas, the company has faced a high demand.
Five U.S.-based chassis, formerly owned by CORE autosport, JDC-Miller Motorsport and PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports, were all sold to European teams to fulfill the rising demand through the summer months.
