BR Engineering’s BR01 LMP2 car will make its second start in the FIA World Endurance Championship next month, with the Russian squad confirming an entry for the Six Hours of Bahrain.

A single Nissan-powered BR01 has been entered under the AF Racing banner for Nicolas Minassian, Mikhail Aleshin and a to-be-confirmed third Bronze/Silver-rated driver.

The entry, which will run on Dunlop tires, boosts the LMP2 grid for the season finale to nine entries and follows the team’s recent turnaround in performance in European Le Mans Series competition.

The Russian squad, which changed its name from SMP Racing to AF Racing to avoid U.S. sanctions, is also understood to still be evaluating a possible two-race American program at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Twelve Hours of Sebring.
