Abdulaziz Al Faisal is set to compete in next month’s FIA WEC Six Hours of Bahrain, having landed a seat in one of Aston Martin Racing’s GTE-Pro entries.
The Saudi driver will join Alex MacDowall and Fernando Rees at the wheel of the No. 99 Craft-Bamboo-backed Vantage GTE, filling in for regular driver Darryl O’Young, who will be competing in the Macau GT Cup that weekend.
While making his debut with the British manufacturer, Al Faisal is no stranger to GT racing, having been a regular in the Blancpain Endurance Series with Black Falcon and also taking part in the last two 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of JMW Motorsport’s Ferrari F458 Italia.
MacDowall and Rees scored pole in the most recent round at Fuji, with the duo and O’Young teaming for a third place finish in class in Japan.
