Alpine has released the first image of its LMDh car ahead of a reveal at next week’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Oreca-chassied prototype, which is yet to be named, will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class in 2024.

The French car maker previously confirmed a commitment for a two-car effort in the first year of the program, which will be operated by Signatech.

The Philippe Sinault-led operation currently runs Alpine’s LMP2 effort in WEC and previously also oversaw its two-year Hypercar entry with its grandfathered LMP1 car.

The teaser image, which the team shared through its social media channels on Tuesday, shows little of the car’s design aside from the trademark No. 36 insignia.

The post teased a further reveal for June 9, which is the Friday before the start of the French endurance classic.

The nose of the car also appears to show some resemblance to the Alpenglow concept car that Alpine revealed at last year’s Paris Auto Show.

When it hits the track, Alpine’s LMDh machine will be the second car with an Oreca chassis to run after the Acura ARX-06 debuted in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship earlier this year.
