Chris Cumming will complete the remainder of the FIA World Endurance Championship season with Team SARD-Morand, the team has confirmed.
The Canadian driver, a front-runner in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship class, will join full-season drivers Oliver Webb and Pierre Ragues in the Swiss squad’s Morgan-Judd for next weekend’s Six Hours of Fuji, as well as the Shangahi and Bahrain rounds.
Cumming, who was previously confirmed for the Fuji round, made his LMP2 debut in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in an OAK Racing-entered Ligier JS P2 Honda.
Team boss Benoit Morand said the deal to put the Silver-rated driver in the car came together through P1 Groupe’s Eric Burch.
“P1 Groupe suggested Chris and I accepted without hesitation,” Morand said. “I follow the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship very closely and he is completing a very good season. I hope he’ll enjoy racing with us.”
Cumming heads into this weekend’s TUDOR Championship season-ending Petit Le Mans third in the Prototype Challenge championship standings, thanks to a pair of class wins this season with RSR Racing.
