The No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia, the LMGTE-Pro race leader, is in the pits with a serious issue with less than two hours remaining.
Toni Vilander was leading, when a gearbox problem appeared on the Ferrari and the Finnish driver was forced to pits.
The Italian team scrambled to bring the car into the box and work on the gearbox started immediately and some 30 minutes later the Ferrari was back on track, down in third place.
As a result of the problems the No. 64 Corvette C7.R has moved into the lead, with Oliver Gavin putting several laps on the stricken Ferrari.
