Iron Lynx has confirmed its switch to Porsche machinery for its FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Am program.

The Italian team has fielded Ferrari 488 GTE Evos since its first year of operation in 2017 but has moved away from the Italian marque after joining forces with Lamborghini for a 2024 LMDh program.

Iron Lynx will run Lamborghini entries in GT3 this year, but the manufacturer behind the Huracan sports car does not have a GTE model in its racing portfolio.

Considering the GTE-Am class will remain active in the WEC for one more season, Iron Lynx went in pursuit of a different manufacturer to remain on the grid and ensure its participation in the centennial 24 Hours of Le Mans.

A preliminary test after last year’s European Le Mans Series season finale at Portimao, followed by subsequent track outings elsewhere, led to the formation of the Porsche program.

Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy are confirmed in the No. 85 Porsche 911 RSR-19 which will compete under the Iron Dames banner.

Bronze-rated Claudio Schiavoni is the first driver named in the No. 60 Porsche.

“We are extremely happy to take part once again in the FIA WEC this season,” said Iron Lynx team principal Andrea Piccini.

“It will be a tremendous honor to see both the Iron Lynx and Iron Dames’ colors in the iconic 100th anniversary of one of the most prestigious races in the endurance world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“Following the recent announcement of our exciting next chapter with Lamborghini in GT and LMDh, choosing Porsche for our GTE campaign felt like a natural extension and fits well into the global picture.”

Iron Lynx has only confirmed a Porsche program in the WEC so far. Its Ferrari effort operated in both the world championship and the ELMS.
