WeatherTech Racing’s brand-new Ferrari 488 GTE has been put through its paces in Italy ahead of this weekend’s Le Mans Test Day.

Cooper MacNeil and Rob Smith, who will form two-thirds of the team’s GTE-Am lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, are on hand at Adria Raceway for the pre-event shakedown.

The pairing will be joined by Ferrari factory driver Toni Vilander in the race.

MacNeil and Smith are completing laps at the circuit in Northern Italy following the recent build of the brand-new chassis at Michelotto.

Scuderia Corsa will operate the entry, marking the American team’s return to Le Mans after failing to secure an invite last year.

MacNeil instead raced with JMW Motorsport at Le Mans in 2018, finishing fifth in class alongside Jeff Segal and Liam Griffin, also in a Ferrari.

MacNeil and Vilander are slated for a busy weekend as they will take part in Saturday’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle in Scuderia Corsa’s GT3-spec Ferrari before flying directly to France for the Test Day on Sunday.

A number of other drivers, including Ricky Taylor, Harry Tincknell and Jonathan Bomarito, will be pulling the double as well.
