Porsche has shown the early edge in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship after topping the time charts in all three of Friday’s test sessions at the Prologue.

The No. 18 Porsche 919 Hybrid of Romain Dumas ended up quickest of the day, thanks to the Frenchman’s 1:37.220 set in the two-hour night session at Circuit Paul Ricard.

Dumas’ time was more than one-second quicker than the sister No. 17 entry, which was second both in the third session and on the day.

The No. 8 Audi R18 e-tron quattro was third quickest in the night, less than one-tenth ahead of the sister No. 7 machine in fourth. The No. 1 Toyota completed the top-five overall and in LMP1.

Other class pace-setters in night session were KCMG (LMP2), AF Corse (GTE-Pro) and Aston Martin Racing (GTE-Am).

Only 20 of the 30 entries turned laps in the night, which was not mandatory for competitors to complete.

Saturday’s testing kicks off at 9 a.m. local and runs through 5 p.m.

RESULTS: Test Session 3
